Wow, it has been a crazy ride the past few weeks.
First was the Springbrook deployment at work. I was working 10 hour days for the 2 weeks before the deployment, and worked all one of the weekends too. Then we went up to Springbrook for 4 days, after which I hoped directly on a flight to Sydney for the student presentations on Friday.
I had one last week at work to tie up loose ends and teach some people what I had been working on. I spent a fair bit of that week doing some running around for my trip too. Like a trip to the Chinese consulate (again) to get my visa reissued to the correct dates. This was on Thursday (I left on Tuesday).
The weekend before I left was spent attempting to move my stuff back to my parents house at Brookfield, and my brother’s 21st birthday party on Saturday night.
On Monday, with some help from Mum, I finally managed to move all my furniture home and had my stuff packed to go. That night I sat down to repack my bag and organise travel docs etc, and managed to stay up until 3am – although this was mostly waiting for the update on my iPhone to install and restore all my data.
The flight was at 8:50am in the morning, and I met Jeni at the airport at 7am.
